80’s Beloved Scrunchies are back!

Since the beginning of time women have styled and decorated their hair. In ancient Rome elaborate hairstyle indicated wealth.

In the 1700’s, colored wigs and elaborate accessories expressed one’s social position.

Women have styled their hair with feathers, bows and hats.

Today we color, cut, shave and decorate our hair as acts of empowerment, self expression and creativity.

The iconic image of Audrey Hepburn with her tiara in Breakfast at Tiffany’s reminds us of the glamour and fun these accessories can be. One of the most popular hair items in the 1980’s were scrunchies. These fabric covered large rubber bands are back. Embrace them or hate them. They are fun and an inexpensive way to change up your look.

No simpler item to pull you hair back.

Katherine Bindley recently wrote an article in the Wall Street Journal about scrunchies being loved by Madonna and Justice Ginsberg. Blame the Movies, an Australian etsy shop sells some truly unique scrunchies.

Will you be wearing them?

An underrated item that adds polish to any outfit

Anthropologie Level 99 denim blazer

Blazers add a perfect finished look to any outfit. When it comes to denim we tend to think only of pants. I believe the denim blazer is highly underrated. What other silhouette makes you look more put together and what fabric states comfort, casual and on trend more than denim?

Jill Stuart nailed it with the details on this denim blazer.

The wonderful, waist detail keeps it special. The retro inspired leather looking buttons and sandblasting add that “oh! just threw this on look”.

A lighter weight version like this one by Faconnable would be perfect to throw over any outfit but also rolls up nicely to fit in your handbag

Denim blazers over dress just look so modern.

Lovely Cat Forsley

Give one a try and let me know what you think. Cheers.
