How transparent will you be?

Sheer or transparent fabrics are making a comeback… think Madonna, lace tops. Thought it would be fun to highlight how to wear this from runway to the office. So, there is the beautiful lingerie approach with full covered briefs which is for the few and brave. I remember Katy Perry wearing something like this to Paris Fashion Week, a few years back.

Depending on the look you would like to achieve, here are the tricks. If you want the item to look lined or “nude” wear nude undergarments.

If you prefer contrast.

Gianni Bini silk Top. DOSA lace trim cami.

Lace Bra Cremieux blouse. Lise Charmel bra

Body lined in same color.

What you decide to wear depends on your mood and the event. I suggest having great nude & black basics. This would include smooth bra, slip, half and full. Search vintage slips, there are some beautiful options. Also a body shaper like Spanx or Donna Karan, both available at Nordstrom, work well. You will be glad you have them when you need them.

Asymmetrical gives great bust coverage. Just make sure you have the correct bustier or strapless.

Basically, choose dresses that accentuate your best feature. Material with some give like jersey is always a good bet. If you choose a sturdier fabric make sure it fits correctly.

Bust: v-neck(emphasis) or asymetrical(minimize)

Small Waist: ruched, cut outs or gathered

Hips: (minimize) with flare or a line fitted but not too tight(accentuate)
